At approx 0620, an empty passenger train from Kirkdale depot to Wesy Kirkby hit a man on Carlton Lane crossing,
near Manor Road station. Emergency services called and body removed. Train services on the move again at at about 0805.

Carlton Lane crossing is what we know as a 'user worked' crossing. In simple terms, it is a gated crossing of the type that normally linkss two farmer's fields, and anyone wanting to cross has to open the gates and then close them once they have crossed.

If you want a photo of the crossing, send me an email.
